Rebecca T. Alpert

Rebecca Alpert is a professor of religion and women’s studies and senior associate dean of academic affairs at Temple University and was one of the first women in Jewish history to be ordained a rabbi. She has written widely on progressive religion and Judaism; among her books are Like Bread on the Seder Plate, Exploring Judaism (with Jacob Straub), and Whose Torah?: A Concise Guide to Progressive Judaism (The New Press). She lives in Philadelphia.
